Overview
The Nikon SMZ25 and SMZ18 are high-performance research stereo microscopes designed for unparalleled flexibility across macro to micro imaging. The SMZ25 offers a world-leading 25:1 zoom ratio, while the SMZ18 provides a robust 18:1 zoom range, enabling users to examine large specimens at low magnification and infinitely zoom into fine details without changing the optical path. Both models leverage Nikon’s Perfect Zoom System, which dynamically adjusts the distance between the two optical axes during zooming to maximize light intake and maintain high numerical aperture, resulting in crisp, aberration-free imaging throughout the zoom range. These microscopes support modularity: you can choose from motorized or manual zoom, a variety of objectives, and ergonomic or tilting observation tubes. Their design also accommodates advanced imaging applications such as fluorescence, simple polarization, and oblique lighting (OCC), making them ideal for developmental biology, materials research, failure analysis, and other demanding workflows. The SMZ25 includes a remote controller for zoom and brightness control, while the SMZ18 keeps things simpler with manual operation — both deliver excellent optical quality, high resolution, and broad adaptability for your microscopy needs.
