Overview
The Nikon SMZ800N is a versatile, high-performance stereo zoom microscope tailored for industrial and materials science applications. With an 8:1 zoom ratio (1×–8×), it offers both a wide field of view at low magnification and high magnification for detailed structural inspection. The optical system uses high-quality “Plan Apo WF” and “ED Plan WF” objectives to minimize chromatic aberration and deliver sharp, bright images across the zoom range. A dual-objective nosepiece enables on-axis imaging—ideal for inspecting hole bottoms or pin structures—without tilting the sample. Ergonomically, the microscope supports a variety of eyepiece tube inclinations (including tilting options) and can be mounted on a slim plain stand or LED diascopic base, minimizing operator fatigue. For contrast enhancement on transparent samples, it can be fitted with OCC (Oblique Coherent Contrast) illumination. With its compact 6.8 kg body and a broad accessory ecosystem, the SMZ800N bridges routine inspection and high-precision research workflows.
